FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
BIT OF BRITAIN BECOMES OFFICIAL EVENTING DISCIPLINE SPONSOR OF USPC
Lexington, KY: The United States Pony Clubs, Inc. (USPC) announced that Bit of Britain, a retail equine clothing and tack supplier, has become the Eventing Discipline Sponsor for the United States Pony Clubs, Inc.
Bit of Britain has been a great supporter of the USPC for many years. “I felt it was time to extend an overall program for the up and coming young riders of America,” said John Nunn, owner of Bit of Britain. “Although I enjoy all equine sports, my focus is Eventing and helping these young riders enjoy the sport to its fullest potential. We are proud to continue that support by offering all USPC members 5% off all Internet orders.”
As the USPC Eventing Discipline Sponsor, Bit of Britain will be involved with the Eventing participants at the Pony Club National Championships at the Virginia Horse Center July 24th – 27th, 2008.
Bit of Britain is retail tack supplier, with an emphasis on the Event Rider. Their large retail store and warehouse is located in Oxford, PA, and they also operate an active mobile store which travels to more than 35 shows and events a year. Bit of Britain also produces four retail catalogs a year and has a major web presence at bitofbritain.com .
The United States Pony Clubs, Inc., was founded in 1954 as a non-profit national youth organization to teach riding and horsemanship through a formal educational program. Many of the nation’s top equestrians, including most of our Olympic Equestrian team members, have Pony Club roots. Members range in age from as young as 4 through age 25. Activities are English-riding based, and members ride both horses and ponies, depending on the size of the rider and the discipline in which s/he is competing.
There are approximately 12,000 members of USPC in over 600 clubs and centers throughout the country. Along with an emphasis on helping members learn to ride and care for horses, Pony Club promotes teamwork, a sense of responsibility, safety, good moral judgment and self-confidence.
