EDUCATIONAL RESOURCE FOR ALL
MEMBERS AND CLUBS
Having trouble coming up with ideas for your
unmounted program? The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) has
presentations on CD/ROM on a variety of veterinary topics that your club can
learn from. All you have to do is contact a vet in your area who is an AAEP
member and tell them what subject you’re interested in and they can contact AAEP
to get the presentation. This is a great opportunity to utilize professionals in
your area who may be hesitant to agree to presentations because they don’t have
one prepared. For more information, contact Dana Kirkland at the AAEP office –
dkirkland@aaep.org
Also, let your members know about the owner
education site that AAEP offers, www.myHorseMatters.com This free
site has loads of educational articles on veterinary topics and an interactive
question and answer section where members can get their questions answered by
experts on a specific topic each month. This is a wonderful resource for Pony
Club members.

THE USPC ‘FLASH’ TEAMWORK
AWARD
Kathy Aranosian (who owned Flash, the USPC 50th
Anniversary Breyer Model) sponsors a yearly contest, for which she has donated a

they were writing about Flash.
A 1-1/2 page essay may be submitted by a Pony Club
telling how a special equine, a special event, or a special member or volunteer
had a team-building experience on club members.
A perpetual trophy, with yearly engravings denoting
the winning Pony Club, will be on display at the USPC National Office. A Breyer
Model of Flash will be awarded to the club.
The deadline for entries is September 1st. Entries will be reviewed
and the winner selected by October 1st. The winning entry will be published in
the winter issue USPC News, with a photo of club members if provided.
Please mail essays, along with a photo of the
club, the event, the pony, or the special honoree, to: Editor, USPC News, 4041
