Dorothy Renfro Memorial Scholarship: A $1,000 scholarship awarded annually for higher education to an active Pony Club member who exhibits the qualities that Dorothy Renfro valued most: leadership, horse management, and volunteering time, energy to beneficial activities, and to encourage horsemen and women in their academic pursuits, and who has overall average GPA of at least C.

Stanley R. and Martha C. Helbert Scholarship: A $1,000 scholarship awarded annually to encourage Pony Club members in their academic pursuits in the Liberal Arts area such as literature, music, theater, visual arts, who have an overall average GPA of at least 2.0.

Jubilee Scholarship: Two (2) $1,000 scholarships to be awarded annually to reward Pony Club members for excellence in academic pursuits, and outstanding achievements in Pony Club, who have either achieved a Pony Club rating of B or higher and has at least a 2.0 average in their academics OR achieved a C-2 or higher rating and at least 3.5 GPA in their academics.

The Anson W. H. Taylor Memorial Scholarship: Sponsored by USPC and The Equestrian Land Conservation Resource, a $1,500 Scholarship will be awarded to a current Pony Club member who has been active with and committed to efforts on behalf of land conservation.

Other Available Scholarships for Pony Club Members
USPC Champion of Equine Service Scholarship - sponsored by the EQUUS Foundation: This scholarship awards $1,000 to an individual affiliated with USPC for undergraduate and graduate studies to stimulate volunteerism and advocacy on behalf of horses and the people who benefit from the horse's unique ability to empower, teach and heal. The individual must perform a minimum of 24 hours of volunteer community service for an organization on The EQUUS Foundation carrots-4-cause network during the calendar year ending December 31, 2012, have logged such hours in on The EQUUS Foundation web site, and have a GPA of 3.00 or above. Schools Offering Scholarships for Pony Club Members
Contact each school directly for details on their scholarships and for application information.
Centenary College: Five (5)$1,000 scholarships a year to Pony Club members, who rate C-3 or higher, display leadership potential, and have a final GPA 3.0 or better in high school college-prep. Centenary offers an equine major and an intercollegiate riding team. They also offer transfer scholarships for Pony Clubbers changing schools with at least a 3.0 GPA. Delaware Valley College: Multiple $1,000 renewable scholarships for Pony Club Members who rate C-1 or higher, with a minimum of 3.0 high school GPA or ranking in the top 30% of their high school graduating class. Recommendations and an essay are required. Scholarships are dependent upon the student maintaining a 2.5 GPA or higher at Delaware Valley College. Delaware Valley College offers a Bachelor of Science degree with specialization in either Equine Training or Equibusiness, as well as an Associates degree in Equine Science. The Equestrian Center is an Official Approved Establishment of the British Horse Society, and incorporates the BHS scheme in the first year curriculum. Deadline for application is February 15th. Georgetown College: Georgetown College will match any scholarship (up to $1,000) received by a USPC member from a recognized equine organization for their Equine Scholars Program. The Equine Scholars Program allows college students to pursue a liberal arts education while still having time to further their equestrian pursuits. The program is in partnership with the Kentucky Horse Park. Lake Erie College: $1,000 scholarships to Pony Clubbers with a high school GPA of 3.0 or better and recommendation of their district commissioner. Lake Erie offers majors in stud farm management, equestrian teacher/trainer and facilities management. They have an intercollegiate riding team. Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre: Pony Club members with a rating of C-3 or higher, and a recommendation from their RS can receive up to four (4) credit hours of an elective course for the entire two year program completed at Meredith Manor. Once enrolled, the student must complete a full quarter at Meredith Manor with a grade point average of 2.5 or better before the credit will be applied. Upon acceptance to Meredith Manor International Equestrian Centre, each Pony Club member should contact his/her Regional Supervisor to facilitate the recommendation and granting of credit. University of Louisville: A $1,000 scholarship to a new student who is currently in Pony Club or a Pony Club graduate and still active in the organization. The Pony Clubber must have at least a 3.0 GPA and a C-3 rating or higher. U of L's Equine Industry Program offers a degree in business administration with a major in equine industry administration. Midway College: Five (5) $1,000 renewable scholarships to incoming students who are Pony Clubbers or recent Pony Club graduates with a C-3 rating or higher. They must have a Pony Club leader's recommendation and high academic achievement. Midway offers majors in general equine studies, equine management and equitation instruction. Otterbein University: $1,000 renewable award. It goes to a Pony Clubber with strong academic credentials. Otterbein offers degrees in equine science with a pre-vet/graduate school focus, equine administration equine facility management and equine health technology. The Race for Education Scholarships: The Race For Education has two types of scholarships:

The Horsemen's Scholarship is available to children of racetrack, backside and horse farm employees.

The Thoroughbred Scholarship is available to students from any background wishing to pursue an equine-related career, such as veterinary medicine (mixed large animal or equine practitioner), agricultural science with equine focus, racetrack management, or equine business management.
Household income for both scholarships may not exceed $60,000 per year. Students must be at least a senior in high school and no older than 25 and must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA to apply. Scholarships pay tuition only. For more information and application, go directly to their

Salem International University: Three (3)$3,000 renewable scholarships for Pony Clubber freshmen. The awards are based on demonstrated leadership potential, academic ability, including a minimum 3.0 GPA, five years riding involvement and three references. Salem International University's equine careers and industry management program is an approved British Horse Society Center. Contact: Director of Admission, PO Box 500, Salem, WV 26426. Stephens College: Five (5) $1,000 scholarships to Pony Clubbers rated C-3 or higher. High school applicants should have a B average or higher and college transfer applicants should have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Recommendation from a Pony Club leader is required. Stephens offers a major in equestrian business management and a minor in equestrian science. They have intercollegiate riding teams. Contact: Admission Office, Campus Box 212, Columbia, MO 65215. William Woods University: $2,000 renewable scholarship for Pony Club members or active Pony Club graduates. Applicants must be rated C-3 or higher, have a high school or college GPA of 3.0 and be recommended by a USPC leader and a new student attending William Woods University. This scholarship is renewable as long as satisfactory academic progress is met. William Woods offers majors in Equestrian Science, Equestrian Administration and Equestrian General Studies (with concentrations in Therapeutic Riding, Equine Art, Equine Leadership, Equine Media and Equine Studies). William Woods offers in-depth instruction in four riding disciplines: dressage, hunter/jumper, saddle seat and western. Applicants must submit documentation of active membership in Pony Club, documentation of riding ability at C-3 or higher, a recommendation letter by a USPC leader and be accepted to William Woods. Wilson College: Offers $1,000 scholarships to Pony Clubbers with a rating of C-3 or higher who have a high school GPA of 3.0 or better in a college preparatory curriculum and the recommendation of their district commissioner. Wilson offers majors in Equestrian Studies, both equine management and equestrian management, Equine Facilitated Therapeutics, Veterinary Medical Technology and Pre-Veterinary Medicine.
